FINAL BRIEF

The Last Memory by Courtney King

Title: The Last Memory

Group Members: Courtney King

Describe-

After weeks of planning, filming, and editing, my film opening is finally done! In order to complete this project I have worked with transitions, color editing, sound, and more.

Analyze-

I have learned so much about being creative, making a film, and editing. Every step in the process was very important and helped me bring my vision to life.

Reflect-

I enjoyed making it and I hope you enjoy watching it!

Final touches

 Last things

Describe-
Today, I focused on the final touches for my film opening. I reviewed the entire project, making small adjustments to audio levels, color, and transitions to ensure everything looked and sounded smooth. I also checked for any small mistakes that needed fixing before exporting the final version.

Analyze-
These small changes made a big difference in making my film look polished. Making sure the volume was balanced, the colors were consistent, and the cuts flowed naturally helped bring everything together.

Reflect-
Now that my final touches are done, my film is officially complete! My next step is exporting the final version and submitting it. I’m excited to share my work!

Color and effects

 Color and Effects

Describe-
Today, I focused on color correction and adding effects to enhance my film opening. I adjusted brightness, contrast, and color tones to make sure all my scenes looked consistent. I also experimented with a few visual effects to enhance certain moments.

Analyze-
Color changes made a huge difference in the mood of my film. Darker tones added drama, while small adjustments to brightness made scenes feel more polished. I had to be careful not to overdo the effects so they looked natural.

Reflect-
Next, I’ll do a final review to ensure the colors and effects look smooth across all scenes. After that, I’ll be ready for the final export of my film!

Audio and music

 Sound

Link-

Describe-

Today, I worked on the audio for my film opening. I added background music, using BeyoncĂ©’s Six Inch Heels instrumental, and mixed in self-made sound effects. I wanted the music to set the right mood while the sound effects made the scene feel more real.

Analyze-

The music added a strong, dramatic energy to my film. It helped build tension and made the scenes feel more intense. The sound effects like breathing and ambient noise made everything more immersive. I had to adjust the volume levels so the sounds didn’t overpower each other.

Reflect-

Next, I’ll perfect the audio balance and make sure everything is clear. Once that’s done, I’ll review the entire film to ensure it sounds and looks perfect before finalizing my project!

Transitions

 Transitions

What I Did-
I focused on adding transitions between my scenes. I experimented with different types, like cuts, fades, and dissolves, to see which ones worked best for my film opening. My goal was to make the scenes flow smoothly without feeling choppy.

Analyze-
I learned that transitions can change the mood of a scene. Quick cuts made the pacing feel fast and exciting, while fades created a slower, more dramatic effect. I had to adjust a few transitions to match the tone of my film.

Reflection-
Now that my transitions are in place, I will check that they match the flow of my film opening. Next, I’ll move on to sound and color of the film to bring everything together!

Arranging scenes

 Let’s Tie It All Together

Describe-
Now that all my filming is done, I started putting my scenes in order. I used my editing software to arrange the clips, trim parts that were too long, and make sure everything flowed smoothly. I also checked that each scene connected well to the next without feeling too fast or too slow.

Analyze-
Seeing the scenes come together made the story feel real. Some clips worked perfectly, but others needed small adjustments. I moved a few shots around to improve the pacing and keep the audience engaged.

Reflect-
Next, I will work on transitions, add sound effects, and fine-tune the details to make the final version as perfect as possible!

Last scenes

 Last scenes

Describe-

Today, I filmed the final scenes for my film opening. These shots were some of the most important because they tie everything together and set the tone for the story. I focused on getting the right camera angles, ensuring smooth movements, and adjusting the lighting to match the earlier footage. I also worked closely with my actors to make sure their performances felt natural and fit the mood of the film.

Analyze-

Filming these last scenes was both exciting and challenging. I had to make sure the lighting and visuals were consistent with what I had already shot. In some cases, I had to reshoot certain parts to match the tone of earlier scenes. I also experimented with different angles to see what worked best. Looking back, I’m happy with how everything turned out, and I think these final shots bring the whole project together.

Reflect-

Now that all my footage is filmed, my next step is to review everything and make any necessary edits. I’ll be focusing on smoothing out transitions, adjusting color and sound, and making sure the pacing feels just right. It’s exciting to see the project coming to life, and I’m looking forward to completing the final edit!

Final opening credits

 Opening credits

Describe-
This is the opening credits for my film. I created my own production company called Courts Productions. So, that is a added clip to my brief. The opening credits only take place in two scenes so all the clips are still not yet combined. Also, music and noises won’t be added till all filming is over.

Analyze-
I played with many different fonts to pick the one that matched my films aesthetic most. This helped me get used to editing and adding text to the scenes. I am on the right track to get my film done in a timely manner and to the best of my capabilities.

Reflect- Next for my brief I will continue to record the rest of my scenes so that I can connect all the scenes together and make my vision come to life. Also, I need to find the music I will add to my film s the nondiagetic sound and I need to make the added noises as the diagetic sound.

Beginning Scenes

 6 Beginning Scenes

Describe-These are the first 6 scenes I have filmed for my final brief. Scene one is to begin the film with the creepy, gloominess the film will have. Scene two introduces the main character in also a creepy way. Scene three is of what is supposed to be a shadow of a ghost. Scene four is the character getting up. Scene five is the main character looking around. Scene six is the main characters point of view of the scenery and she is shaking since shes scared. The scene order will possibly be changed.

Scene 1-
Scene 2-

Scene 3-
Scene 4-
Scene 5-
Scene 6-
Analyze- This helped me practice how to use my Canon camera and allow me to begin my film. Recording the next scenes should be much easier now that I have the experience. I had to record each scene multiple times till I perfected it. Also, scene ideas such as the ghost shadow popped into my mind. So, I added it in the film.

Reflect- Next, I will continue to record scenes of the films. The next scenes will be more action and very suspenseful. Also, I need to add my opening credits to these scenes as these are my opening scenes.

Title scene

                             Title Scene

Describe-

I have made the final scene of my film opening, the title scene. I came up with the title of the film which is “The Last Memory” and playing around with different text styles and fonts helped me get a good feel for the film. I will add music when I complete all of the scenes to make the title scene more mysterious.

Analyze-

This helped me get my video started as I now have something I can build off of. I know how I want my film to end and what I do the first scene it will really set the tone for my film. I changed background images multiple times and I changed text fonts many times until it felt right and complete. I feel like I have done a good job at that.

Reflect-

Next week I will begin filming content for my film as I will have a hold of a camera by then. I don’t have a lot of time to finish everything so I need to get as much done as soon as possible. But, creating the title scene was a good way to get started.

Poster

                             Poster Reveal

Describe-

I made a poster for my film using CapCut. This helped me get more of an aesthetic for my film and allowed me to practice my editing skills.

Analyze-

This is my poster reveal for my film. The film will be called “The Last Memory” and the person on the cover is me as I will be the main character whose name will be “Jasmine”.

Reflect-

Next I will begin my film by making my title scene using CapCut. Making this poster allowed me to experiment and text out CapCut which will be very useful for future use.
